Within five the world monetary system will have probably collapsed. For many this will mean the earnings and savings of a lifetime will disappear. Some countries and their currencies will be gone. Other countries will have slipped into revolutions and dystopia.
Have you thought about where you will live in five years?
Within five years many countries will have added to restrictions on travel that limit their citizens ability to flee. Trapped, with passports revoked or declined from reissue, many will be slaves to whatever political regime is in control of their current home. The USA has added another tack and made it’s citizens unwanted in other parts of the world (try opening a foreign bank or brokerage account. almost anywhere). Human rights will continue to be usurped as unjust law is forced on a world wide basis. The more efficient your current government, the more likely it will turn tyrannical as it fights to survive by devouring it’s resources.
High maintenance governments view their citizens as a survival resource. Have you made plans to keep from being devoured?
In five years the Internet will probably be limited in terms of expression and of who can offer services. There will be darknet, meshnet, and other distributed ways to bypass the blockages. Have you bothered to investigate? For now every e-mail you send, every phone call you make, every comment you add to your or another’s social site is probably being recorded and saved in your file. This file will be robotically combed to see if anyone you associated with is considered suspicious, then you will be considered suspicious. Then your file can be mined for phrases you used, words you typed, pictures you displayed that can be used against you. Everything can be used. People will increasingly be made to disappear without notice or due process.
Have you investigated VPN as a means of protecting your data? If you learn that your name is on a list, but can not protest the list or find it’s meaning, do you have a plan to escape?
In five years the largest employer in the world will be — self. Technology is deflating the bubbles of inefficient organizations. What took a thousand bureaucrats to mess up, can now be done well by a single person with a computer. Luddites will fight these developments with law and saber, but unless we are all tossed back to the dark ages by EMP discharges, technology will win out. Your little holding pen of a cubicle will sit empty.
Have you looked at options for moving to an environment with a future instead of that bastion of the past where you currently reside?
In five years the world will have changed. If you are not anticipating change you may be left behind or have been destroyed.
Can you afford to not look at today’s trends and plan to take action?
Where will you be in five years if you do nothing?
